Gregory Griffin now retired after an extensive career as a Category Manager/Beverage and Tobacco Director with Walgreens Corporate office and Safeway Corporation. Served as a top revenue producer and Business Manager building profitable product lines throughout highly competitive markets.
Greg was responsible for the tactical planning and execution for over 150 beverage departments within two prominent grocery store chains. He shaped and influenced marketing programs, advertisement and product mix, sales promotions, and budgets with consideration to inventory, cost of goods sold, planograms and sales forecast. During his tenure, his department was the number one profit and sales growth department within the respective companies that employed him.
Prior to his corporate experience, Greg served as a Store Manager for Walgreens Drug Stores. Greg earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and marketing from Northern Illinois University. Upon retirement, Greg has done consulting for small businesses in sales and marketing, started and coached an AAU Girls Basketball program, tutored math for children from grades one through eight.
